Although we have just launched less then 24 hours ago, I have seen our share of social networks sites that have “submitted a startup” to us.

My Modern Metropolis (aka theMET) did catch our attention. TheMET (as the company calls themselves, is a place to share modern day experiences, upcoming events, great resturants, new music and modern art.

Alice Yoo launched the site in May, 2008. To quote Alice “After business school, I started working for MTV…stayed there for about four years and then moved to Temecula, where I worked for another two years as a Manager at Outdoor Channel. I found this site because I saw a need to create a social network that actually enhanced our lives. I’m on MySpace and Facebook, like a lot of you, I started out on Friendster, I’m even on Twitter and LinkedIn. But through all of those experiences, I still felt empty - I mean….how many times can we throw sheep at each other? :)”

While surfing the site, it actually gave us a relaxed, almost soothing feeling. This is probably why “The members of the site make theMET really special. The fact is that theMET is a collage - its very foundation is made by the people, for the people. It’s a hub for people in this modern day and age to gather and share the little intricate things that they find interesting in this world. And as we put all the little pieces into one big portrait, we see that together, theMET is a beautiful place and the fabric comes from us all.”

We tend to agree !!!!
