We all have done it. Gone to Home Depot on a Saturday or Sunday morning determined to fix something on our own. However, at times our enthusiasm overshadows the reality that a specific project just might be a little harder then anticipated.

This is where bidrealm.NET might be able to help. Launched in March of 2008, Bidrealm.NET offers a free online reverse auction service that brings together home owners and home improvement professionals such as contractors, landscapers, painters, electricians, plumbers and provides them the opportunity to locate each other and conduct efficient business with better choice and price by utilizing the web.

Normally a homeowner will rely on a recommendation or search the yellow pages for a home improvement professional, and then go with the first quote. At the same time, home improvement professionals normally struggle and work from job to job, often not knowing where the next available job or bid will come from.

With Bidrealm.NET, the homeowner can post projects online such as building a deck, painting, plumbing, etc, and have professionals place bids on those projects. The homeowner benefits from better choice and price through competitive bidding, while the professional gains the opportunity to build their business and keep it consistent.

I think the company has hit upon many interesting points. One being is asking friends “who have you used” as a contractor can limit the possibilities to only 1-2 contractors. Using their site, could give us the consumer many more options.
