The Private Investors Forum (PIF), a non-profit consortium of accredited private investors and angel investor groups in the Mid-Atlantic Region, announced a call for entries among entrepreneurs to participate in the 12th Annual Angel Venture Fair (AVF) to be held on April 6, 2010 at the Union League in Philadelphia.
This is one of the most successful conferences of accredited angel investors and entrepreneurs in the nation. Historically 75% of the companies that had presented at past events have gone on to raise capital. Since 1998, emerging growth companies have raised more than $16 million at the conference.
The AVF offers the following: exposure to active angel investors and investor groups from across the region, instructive programs to help companies connect with investors and business advisors to aid in their success, possible selection for a presentation slot at the Angel Venture Fair (AVF).
All applicants will be invited to additional networking, training and education sessions at no cost and several more will be selected to participate in our “Speed Dating” program at the Angel Venture Fair on April 6, 2010.
High profile success stories from the forum abound. According to the press release those stories include:
FingerWorks, Inc., a leading edge provider of input technologies, acquired by Apple, a multi-billion dollar supplier of IT software and hardware for a price equal to 25 times revenue.
Protez Pharmaceuticals, a developer of antibiotics for difficult to treat infections, which raised $36 million and was acquired by Swiss healthcare giant Novartis for $400 million.
Application deadline is February 5, 2010. You can apply directly from the website.
A $250.00 non-refundable fee is required with each application. All paid applicants receive free entry into all AVF educational and networking sessions and a chance at being amongst the 30 companies selected as finalists to present before angel investors in several different venues including the Angel Venture Fair on April 6, 2010.
40 or more companies will be initially selected to pitch a powerpoint presentation in person on March 4, 2010 to a panel of investor judges. 30 will be selected as finalists. An additional fee of $1,000.00 will be required if your company is selected to present and have an exhibit booth.
