mc_logoIt seems that Mom’s are out in full force this week. Early we did a story on CouponMom.com, now we have a story on MomCorps.com.

MomCorps.com is the expert in the flexible employment market. Their mission is to provide companies direct access to a previously untapped market segment of exceptional talent - professionals who have opted out of the traditional workplace. This enables professionals to work in their respective fields, while simultaneously meeting familial needs and responsibilities. Founded in July of 2005, Mom Corps‘ roster has grown to more than 40,000 candidates nationwide seeking flexible work schedules, and its client base has expanded to several hundred companies, including Fortune 500 firms. Despite current economic conditions, MomCorp.com has recently begun expanding their franchising operations.

On November 9, 2009, Mom Corps announced the opening of more franchises in Charlotte, Cincinnati, and Northern Virginia marking major growth in the company this year as so many businesses struggle to remain solvent. As jobless rates soar across the country, Mom Corps is expanding for the second time this year, providing more alternatives to companies who are looking for temporary or on demand employees. This expansion is a great resource also for those who have lost their jobs and to people re-entering the job market.

Earlier this year, Mom Corps established franchises in Miami, Philadelphia and Atlanta, in addition to their online web presence and existing offices. Research has indicated that flexible; on demand positions are a trend that is developing around the country saving employers money while still hiring top tier professionals. With the launch of its franchising, Mom Corps has tapped into an ever growing pool of experienced, educated professionals seeking flexible, career alternatives as franchise owners.

mainpicProjjix.com is an Irvine, California based startup, launched in beta on November 2, 2009, which bills itself as “The Consulting Marketplace”.

Projjix’s mission is to create a new paradigm shift in how Fortune 500/1000 companies find and engage consultants. Projjix helps companies realize significant cost savings by giving them direct access to experienced consultants via a low-cost and efficient online marketplace. Consultants can also benefit from lower pay rate markups, which translate into greater earnings potential.

Currently, a high percentage of consultants’ billings through Big 4 and other similar consulting firms helps pay for high overhead, including sales and management salaries, expensive office space and other perks.

According to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ study on Contingent and Alternative Employment Arrangements, 8 percent of the workforce is already listed as either Independent Contractors or as Contractors provided by a contract firm. This percentage is expected to continue to grow. The same study found that 82 percent of these variable workers preferred their work arrangement to a traditional job and this percentage is expected to grow as well.

“We all acknowledge that the world has changed and that companies are struggling to adapt. Traditional employment models are proving too rigid to keep up with the accelerating pace of change. In addition, highly skilled and experienced workers are leaving traditional jobs in record numbers to become independent consultants,” said Jim Hazboun, CEO and founder of Projjix. “The data is compelling. We believe that economic conditions are accelerating this trend and that Projjix is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this monumental shift as demand for consultants and project workers continues to increase now and well beyond the economic recovery.”
