In the old days, in-depth market research typically required retaining a market research fund and spending gobs of dollars to get the information you needed.
AskYourTargetMarket.com is a New Jersey based startup (currently in beta) that allows you to create your own market research surveys in minutes using simple self-service tools. Launched in September of 2009, you can send those surveys with one click to your target market without a contract or even a phone call. You select the precise demographic segment of the AskYourTargetMarket.com consumer panels whose opinions you seek. Best of all, it’s inexpensive with surveys starting at $29.95 – a price that the company estimates is 95% less than the going rate charged by market research firms and competing online survey software companies.
Several years ago, David Handel and Lev Mazin set out to break down the cost barrier that has kept target market research inaccessible to the vast majority of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and students.
The project proved to be a huge success. Online influencers began embracing the model as an inroad to an industry that has been ruled by corporate tycoons and expensive market research firms for decades.

8coupons.com, a site that helps you find deals in your local area, has, since December, been offering its new self-service mobile coupon platform free. The promotion is scheduled to last for 100 days. Since launching in 2007, 8coupons.com has offered a self-service mobile coupon platform for small-businesses in New York City. As part of a redesign, the platform is now available nationwide. To celebrate, 8coupons is offering an opportunity for any business to try the service free for 100 days (an $888 value). Businesses can sign up at the site and use the promo code “MobileCoupons” at checkout to receive a credit of $888.
8coupons started in New York City was mostly known for its mobile coupons and its OCHO LOCO! promotions (more on that in a bit). 8coupons.com now aims to be a one-stop shop for locating deals, regardless of where you live. With a loaded database of over 60,000 mobile coupons and deals throughout the country, consumers can now find money-saving information all in one place.
The newly designed site has been upgraded. When a user visits 8coupons.com, the map on the homepage will automatically populate the Top 8 most popular deals based on his or her IP address. This ensures that anyone who visits the site will see the deals that are most relevant to him or her specifically. The Top 8 deals will change dynamically as the user moves the map around to different locations, zooms in on a specific street, or narrows down the deals by sub-categories such as restaurants, entertainment, beauty & spas, services and shopping.
8coupons.com also has so-called “User Submitted Deals”. Consumers can tell everyone about the specials in their local area. To date, there have been over 100,000 user-shared deals on 8coupons.com. Sponsored listings on the site include deals with Valpak, Money Mailer, andRedPlum’s SuperCoups. They also have deals with local bloggers and content partners.

There are many sites such as LegalZoom.com that seek to “replace” attorneys and their fees by providing legal documents such as wills, trademark documents, and corporate documents at low cost without attorney’s fees. The legal profession and many other professionals will tell you however that there is no substitute for one on one interaction with knowledgeable counsel. However, finding the right lawyer is probably the most difficult step in procuring representation.
A new Milwaukee, Wisconsin based company, LawBidding.com, LLC launched LawBidding.com in May of 2009. LawBidding.com allows individuals and businesses to confidentially post their legal issues for free, and then allows attorneys to search through the cases and place bids on that work, also for free. The client can then select their attorney based on the bids. The Wall Street Journal legal blog dubs it “Kind of Like Match.com, for Lawyers and Clients”.
This site could be of great interest to our readers. As pointed out on the LawBidding.com website, entrepreneurs and small businesses often need legal help on many issues and often do not know where to start in their search for an attorney. Unfortunately, in addition to the time it takes to find the right attorney, many time entrepreneurs are working with tight budgets and thus often feel they cannot afford an attorney. LawBidding.com aims to remedy these problems by making it more efficient and more affordable to find the right attorney.
