      • If you like the win+mouse way to move/resize windows, you can also install alt drag.

    • What do you guys use for tiling?

I actually stopped using tiling since I discovered altdrag. For me its usually faster to move/resize my windows to current prefered size/location than to find a perfect tiling setup that works for every situation.

My preferred solution to point two is using AltDrag, which lets you quickly and easily reposition windows by holding Alt.

    • Edge – Closing a 30 pixel gap between native and web

Yep, I find it pretty funny that my #1 favorite desktop UI feature is from Linux. One of the first things I’ll put on a fresh install of Windows or MacOS is a utility that re-creates the behavior. I use AltDrag on Windows (requires a quick tweak for HiDPI): https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/ And Easy Move + Resize on MacOS: https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize.

    • Sizer is a life-saver

I wanted to share a program I found few months ago called Sizer and it made a lot of games playable in my computer My computer which couldn’t even run Hollow Knight or Cuphead ran those game with the help of this program By sizer you can resize an app into any size you want and it is really helpful for certain games which doesn’t allow you to go lower than a specific res. I recommend combining Sizer with a program…

    • I just wanted to say Gnome 42 rocks. Meta key overview mode should be everywhere.

Depends on your workflow I guess. Windows is barely usable for me without AltDrag.

    • Samsung odyssey g9 black screen

But for the games you like the best workaround I found is to launch the game in window mode and then stretch the window using AltDrag: https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/ yes u get DWM in windowed/borderless mode but that’s better than a desire to cut your own veins bcuz of that shitty monitor which will most likely fail on you 9 out of 10 cases.

    • For “power-users” who use *both* Windows and Mac/macbooks, do you find it easy and as efficient to switch between the two on a daily basis? Or should I dedicate myself to ONE OS?

Installed https://github.com/dmarcotte/easy-move-resize on my mac, and https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/ on my PC. Make moving and resizing windows easier, and I hate maximizing/full-screening windows, as I find it’s a huge waste of screen space.

I just realized that’s Windows. AltDrag emulates this behavior on Windows.

    • Can Microsoft PLEASE increase the size of the window borders to more than 1 freaking pixel so it doesn’t take me 8 seconds to resize a window

Get https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/ and never touch the border of a window again.

    • Taskbar on top. 10 year old bugs. Very frustrating. Rant!!!

I also use the taskbar at the top.
The truth is that this problem is rarely happening to me, but when it happens, I use the Alt + Space keys to access the title bar menu, then Maximize the window and then, drag it from the title bar.
You may find the AltDrag program useful.

      Hello!

I’m using “Alt drag” to hold “Alt (but in my case win button) + left click and drag” to move window’s.

    • Studio One plugin windows open out of reach

I’m on vacation and working from my laptop (1920×1080). I typically work on a 3840×2160 screen. When I open projects that were last touched on my desktop the plugin windows open down in the bottom right corner in a way which I cannot grab them. I installed AltDrag (I find it odd that Windows doesn’t have a feature like that built in) and that seems to be a decent solution.

    • Whatever Happened to UI Affordances?

I loved that too! I use AltDrag[0] to get that functionality in Windows. It’s a bit old and you may have to tweak it a bit to make it work with HiDPI, but it’s now become a must-install when I set up a new machine. [0] https://stefansundin.github.io/altdrag/.

    • Now this is the kind of theming we’ve been wanting on discord for ages

You can have transparent windows on Windows 10 with the use of some programs. I use AltDrag, which allows me to quickly make a window transparent by win+scrolling on it. It also allows you to do some other tricks like dragging my win+clicking the window instead of looking for the draggable title bar.
