I mean, “any sense” is a pretty strong statement. I’ve made a number of books from blurb.com, as have literally thousands of other people. Anyway, I guess we’ve both expressed our desires which will be equally ignored by Adobe.

9 year old wants to print his book – BookCreator app is the worst when it comes to printing. Any ideas?

If you are just looking to print a couple for fun I would probably use something like blurb.com.

Publishing a Photo Book

I would love to have some help going to selection of pics, and putting it together, but not sure where to start. I reached out to one publishing service who said they could do it for $500. I’ve also heard of blurb.com which seems like a bigger operation, but costly since they print on demand etc. So they would set the price higher to recoup their costs.

Self publishing my first book, asking for recommendations.

I agree with u/astrobean & u/WessonRenick. I used B&N for paperback/hardback, I’m working on the eBook formatting and I also use Amazon for paperback and working on the eBook formatting. You could always use blurb.com as more of a marketing tool because it’s farther down the totem pole for book websites. Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Apple etc. Are going to be your more top sites and also you could create a Goodreads page….

Self publishing my first book, asking for recommendations.

I’m not familiar with blurb.com, but I’m imagining most readers are not finding books by going to their online storefront. It looks like Blurb depends on Amazon, Apple Books, etc. To help further their distribution, making them similar to Smashwords or other amalgamation sites that have their own storefronts.

I believe that a negative effect of the declining religiosity of the west is that fewer people have access to the networks and community that churches and temples provide.

I def understand that. I went for self publishing, through blurb.com. It was super easy and pretty affordable. Got to control every aspect of the design/layout, ended up being exactly what I envisioned it to be.

Something to keep their hands busy?

My wife likes organizing playing cards (ordinary deck, uno cards, doesn’t matter what kind). I spread them out on the table in front of her and she will carefully put them in one stack. Similar to another comment, family photo books (blurb.com, etc.) have been good. Good luck.

What are your thoughts on the magazines on Kavyar etc.?

If you want to make a magazine with your photos for your friends got to blurb.com and make one, you can even put it on amazon via their page.
