End-to-end encryption
Fully open source
Real-time collaboraton
I see that they claim all of their apps and libraries are open source[0]. But they only link to the OpenPGP libraries they’re using. Is this actually open source? Following the “Open Source” footer link[1], here they only link to the ProtonMail Github account with nothing mentioning ProtonDrive. And if it is actually open source, I’d love to see a comparison to CryptPad[2] > which is why we’ve made all our apps…

I work for XWiki SAS. Two products we develop have it: – XWiki, a extensible wiki platform, experimentally [1] but soon to be fully supported – CryptPad [2], an end-to-end encrypted collaborative platform. And actually, CryptPad was accidentally born as a first attempt to have this feature in XWiki. Hey, very happy to see you so enthusiastic! I’ll be sure to transmit your feedback to the CryptPad team. I’m not an expert myself so while I might know some stuff, it’d be better to talk to them directly. Come say hello on the Matrix #cryptpad-general channel [1], don’t hesitate to open issues on the bug tracker, and to browse the CryptPad’s website [2]. It’s not LibreOffice, but while revisiting CryptPad (which I thought was a multiplayer notepad like etherpad or codimd, except with an encryption key in the url fragment identifier) I was impressed to see that they’re expanding to become an entire office suite. You get a WYSIWYG editor (I’d rather wish for markdown but ok), spreadsheet editor, survey forms, and more which I don’t remember, all live like google…

Currently I’m looking at https://cryptpad.org/. But maybe there is an alternative that sucks even less?!

I hear ya, I’m still running Desqview on this 8088. Sooo… I’ve got something awesome in store for us. Cryptad. Cryptad is a open source, browser based, self hosted, end to end encrypted office suite. For free!

I know about privatebin and cryptpad projects. They both provide (at least it is an option) zero-knowledge file hosting. For example, privatebin server doesn’t know the contents of my paste, only my friend with a link can open this file. The link itself is a decryption key.

Another reason I was pleased with Only Office was due to the https://cryptpad.fr/ support. — https://docs.cryptpad.org/en/FAQ.html#faq-oointegration.

Try cryptpad. I’ve used it as a google docs alternative and it got the job done. It seems to support spreadsheets as well, but I can’t test the mentioned formats on a phone. (It says Your browser cannot handle conversion to and from office formats.).

Also, Google forms? Do yourself a favor and use NextCloud Forms or Cryptpad Forms.

I think CryptPad is a good option for collaborative work.

Https://cryptpad.fr if you want to use something in the cloud which respects privacy more. But I think the more practical solution is LibreOffice/OpenOffice. I think it’s encouraged (or even enforced?) to use that office suites for public service/government institutions in France.

I think there’s several possible solutions:
* No-code/low-code database platforms (e.g., NocoDB)
* Personal finance manager (e.g., Firefly III)
* Spreadsheets (e.g., CryptPad for a full office suite or Ethercalc)
* Task management systems (e.g., Vikunja).

I’d also recommend looking into anything to do with open source, peer-to-peer networks, end-to-end encryption, federation or platform co-operatives. For example: Matrix, Freenet, Cryptpad, Activity Streams, Mastodon, Aether, Scuttlebutt and Resonate. A whole plethora of services from video conferencing to online marketplaces to crowdfunding platforms to streaming platforms can be built using similar principles and…

Hey there! As far as a dataset uploader I like CryptPad – they’re funded in part by the Mozilla Foundation and are open source. Solid crytography in the tool too. https://cryptpad.fr/ / https://cryptpad.org.

For document collaboration, I find CryptPad fairly capable, and probably the closest you currently get to an E2EE based alternative to Google Docs.

I noted both LO team and LT team, but none of them are looking as why there is such an issue when that addon is made for LO. Anyway, downloaded latest but didn’t work. Unfortunately, I have to https://cryptpad.fr/ to work online and use LT as addon until this doesn’t gets resolved.
