Direction is for the gradient line’s angle. 0deg is value is to top, increasing values rotate clockwise from 0deg.
Color-stop is for the value of color and a stop from 0% to 100%(or length) along the gradient’s axis.
CSS Gradient has a great tool for creating gradients and directly copy the css code.

Try changing the height of .main-about to be 100vh. This being said, it might be easier to do one of two things: either recreate that gradient png using css gradients (https://cssgradient.io/), or have a separate div on the page whose sole role is to render the background image properly.
