Free and Open Source
Denemo is available for free and its source code is open, allowing users to modify and contribute to the software.
Integration with LilyPond
It works seamlessly with LilyPond, a powerful music engraving program, to produce high-quality sheet music.
Cross-Platform
Denemo runs on various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, providing flexibility for users.
MIDI Input
Allows for real-time entry of music via MIDI devices, making note entry quicker and more intuitive for musicians.
Advanced Score Customization
Provides detailed and advanced options for customizing the appearance and layout of music scores.
Support for Keyboard Shortcuts
Enhances productivity by offering extensive keyboard shortcuts for various functions and commands.
In other words, you do not need to embed this functionality into your editor, you simply need to have your editor communicate with this backend in order to have the basic MIDI input working! As I mentioned in my other post, the MIDI input functionality and features were heavily inspired by Frescobaldi and a bit by Denemo.
