Also, even further back that style of digital art was a thing. You can simply google “tech Photoshop brushes” and get an idea of what’s available to create something like this. I also recall someone finding some of the exact shapes in a brush kit at some point. I tried looking but couldn’t find it myself. I know there were hundreds of these on deviantart.com as well.
