Many years ago, Dogpile beat Google as a fast and effective choice for web surfing and searching. But late in the 1990s things changed and this search engine faded into obscurity, and Google became the master of the search engines. But not, Dogpile is come back, with a growing index and a quick and clean presentation which is accounts for its halcyon days.

  • I have successfully used a 12v LiFePO4 booster on my truck. I’d like to make another one, but from a motorcycle Lithium battery. What current protection to use?

I found some more leads, skipping google and using dogpile.

  • Court denies googles requests, allowing rumble to subpoena algorithms designed to shunt traffic away from rumble

Transparency: Even if what Google is doing is above board, it’d be nice to have a certain level of transparency. Why are they burying Rumble? (they’re a competitor, hate speech on the platform, etc..) Can we see a list of websites that get buried or prioritized? If you’re going to start making moral judgments that have an effect on the business of others, you should have the courage to lay them out and defend…

  • Which iconic moment in time will you never get over?

It was 1997 and I was in fourth grade. Our teacher made us all go to the computer lab to look up stuff related to an assignment on a search engine, and I clearly remember the search engine was dogpile.com. Looking back, this wasn’t at all necessary, our teachers were just trying to get us exposed to this new thing that would obviously one day be a huge part of our lives. The more I learned about the Internet, the…

  • Why do Internet searches no longer work?

As an FYI, before DDG I used the search engine dogpile.com I just checked, the search engine is still up and it did not give me a lot of useless stuff when I searched for “soft soap with floating hearts” in quotes, of course.

  • [Fallout 4] Kellogg CerealKiller Companion

Ha! Well, if it is a mod that was deleted after the update back in June then all you have to do is search the mod name to find the link for it and then add “?tab=files&file_id” after the mod number and search for that on a weird search engine such as dogpile.com and a link to the file will likely come up. Does this make sense? I feel like I’m awful at explaining things…

Oh wow Angelfire, that’s one I had forgotten! Geocities via Netscape Navigator, Angelfire, dogpile.com, Ask Jeeves!, HotBot, MySpace… AOL free trial disks, Prodigy, Compuserve… Ahh the early years of the internet, back when my kids were newborns/ toddlers. Such nostalgia. Except for the long distance phone bills due to AOL flash sessions.

  • AskJeeves.com: Back when search engines were classy

OH RIGHT! DOGPILE! That was the one that we all preferred, but it was a smaller one than Jeeves was. XD Also, apparently could get you porn easier? My friend “accidentally” misspelled the url (I think it was dogpile.com?) and got to a porn site instead, on the school computers, and got into serious trouble. Though whether it was intentional or not, looking back on it, I can totally see it being just a dumb…

  • The “COMIR” in “COMIRNATY”, Phizer’s new covid vaccine name, refers to a US Intelligence Software System which will track citizens location and movements, along with vaccine status, globally

One other weird thing I didn’t mention is that it’s hard to find this and the links above on google, they come easy on dogpile.com, def looks like google is censoring “comirex”.

  • How was the Internet like in late 90s and early 2000s? What websites were popular at the time?

Dogpile.com was amazing back then though because it aggregated all the other search engine results. Sort of a super-search engine.

  • How was the Internet like in late 90s and early 2000s? What websites were popular at the time?

Other websites I remember that were popular back then were rotten.com for gore and dogpile.com for search. Some things you can’t ever unsee.

I would also recommend using multiple search engines, one that I tend to find the most relevant/hard to find information is dogpile.com; a compilation search engine.
