Decentralization
DTube is built on blockchain technology, which means it is not controlled by a single entity. This reduces censorship and ensures content availability without the risk of being taken down by a central authority.
Monetization
Content creators can earn cryptocurrency directly through user votes and views, providing a transparent and potentially more rewarding monetization model compared to traditional ad-based revenue systems.
Privacy
DTube does not track users or collect extensive personal data, offering greater privacy compared to mainstream platforms like YouTube which rely heavily on user data for targeted advertising.
Community Governance
Decisions about the platform are community-driven, with users having significant influence over content curation and development through voting mechanisms.
DTube – A blockchain video platform with a smaller but active user base. DTube enables uploading videos, liking, commenting and rewarding creators with cryptocurrency tips. Its decentralized nature provides censorship resistance.

I’m not entirely convinced that youtube is actually worth $7 a month. Ofc, I’m also far away from saying it is worth nothing, but not gonna pay 7USD unless I’m getting something extra (I mean content, maybe movies???) than just no ads. Otherwise once blocked will switch to other platforms, eg. https://d.tube/, vimeo, etc…

For YouTube alternatives: odysee.com, d.tube, and 3speak.tv are all decentralized and censorship resistant.

DTube is the first Google search result for “YouTube alternatives.” Did you actually search for alternatives?

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I plan to use this laptop for location-independent work (i.e., RV life & traveling abroad) that will require simultaneously running multiple virtual machines with local virtual networking to demonstrate techniques. I have a lot of recorded footage to begin video editing to start a YouTube / d.tube / Odysee channel….

I’m looking for a single episode (“Atari VCS Is A Scam! Tempest 4000 Was Faked! – Hot Take Game News”) of an old gaming news show which unfortunately seems lost. While I have the Youtube link, it’s not available there nor on the Wayback Machine. Interestingly enough, it was also uploaded to d.tube, meaning it was also available via IPFS. While no IPFS gateways I’ve tried are able to serve it, I’m curious if…

Https://d.tube is a youtube clone but each video is entirely hosted on IPFS decentrilized instead of google servers (centralized). You can upload every kind of stuff here including porn and noone is able to remove it as long as there are people sharing (parts) of those files.

Idk why they don’t realize most users barely have patience for 2 ads… If they’re going to implement 5… I’d rather just go to another platform d.tube is an option I guess, but dunno how good it is lately. Haven’t been there in a while.

For example, youtube is just a video aggregator, what youtube can do, d.tube can also do, but so far, no brave support for d.tube creators.

Decentralized alternatives to Zoom, Reddit, Instagram, Slack, YouTube, Stripe, Wikipedia, Facebook Horizon and more have already pushed terabytes of daily P2P traffic on GUN. We are a friendly community creating a free fun future for freedom:.

Can’t arrive fast enough in my opinion. With options like Odysee, 3Speak, and D.Tube, among others, I’d love to see a big push toward decentralization of social media.

I keep wondering how long people will continue to put up with it… Looking forward to the rise of decentralized video sites like odysee.com, 3speak.tv, or d.tube. Censorship resistant platforms are out there, just lacking in visibility and content, relative to YouTube’s massive audience.

Always great seeing more exposure to stuff like this. Just searched “IWW OT101” on YouTube and was given lackluster results, with a few exceptions I’m checking out now. Might not hurt to get some content on decentralized platforms like 3speak.tv or d.tube as well.

DTube is one of the safest websites to stream videos because of its bash on Blockchain and the good news is that it is a completely decentralized platform the serves as an excellent alternative for YouTube. Blockchain is a source of cryptocurrency.
