Real-time Collaboration
Figma allows multiple users to work on a design simultaneously, making it easy for teams to collaborate and provide real-time feedback without the need for constant file exchanges.
Cloud-Based
Being cloud-based means that designers can access their projects from any device with an internet connection, enhancing flexibility and ensuring that the latest versions of files are always available.
Cross-Platform
Figma is accessible on various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, which makes it versatile for teams with diverse software environments.
Prototyping and Design in One Tool
Figma integrates both design and prototyping features, reducing the need for additional tools and streamlining the design process from concept to final product.
Easy Handoff
Developers can easily inspect elements, get CSS properties, and export assets directly from the design files, making the handoff process to development smooth and efficient.
Frequent Updates
Figma regularly introduces new features and improvements, ensuring that users have access to the latest tools and functionalities in design.
This past week I attended the 2024 Figma Config conference. The conference was held in person in San Francisco, California, at the Moscone Convention Center and was a great opportunity to learn more about Figma and how other teams in the industry manage their design systems.

Hey, I’ve wrote a few books (https://kerkour.com/books) with only markdown, https://excalidraw.com and https://figma.com I’ve detailed my complete setup and shared the Dockerfile that I use to convert the markdown into ebooks (EPUB, PDF and Kindle) on my blog: https://kerkour.com/book-self-publishing-pandoc.

Create a low-fidelity mockup or wireframe of your MVP using tools like Balsamiq, Sketch, or Figma. Or use an easier-to-use tool like Uizard, which also has text-to-design capabilities.

Figma recently announced its new Variables product, allowing you to define and manage your design tokens directly within Figma. I have been experimenting with Figma Variables for a few weeks and am reasonably impressed with how it works. In this article, I’ll share how I’ve been using Figma Variables to support my design projects and how I’ve been syncing them with my codebase with GitHub Actions and…

This might get you a better chance:
1.)Go to figma.com, or paint if you so choose and make a mockup of what the app would look like
2.) Try to figure out who the person would be that uses your app and then try to get feedback from them through subreddit, so like r/cooking for an app about cooking. You can use any social media too or maybe just ask your neighbours or ppl on the street. Anything to try and…

Bootstrap has been mentioned and is a great starting point. They have many examples that have probably been the starting points for many apps. Material Design is also interesting and reading through their docs actually helped me understand some ui elements better than I had previously. Start poking around. You could also try making your own mock-ups using something like Figma. They have a Material Design Kit too.

Hi! I design my blog posts completely on a different website (figma.com) because it’s much easier to make great designs there. I include everything from images to texts, and then once it’s ready, I export it as a jpg. File and add it to the blog page in the form of an image. —>.

To get by this problem I just design individual sections of my blog on figma.com, download it as a jpg. , and then import it as an image block to the blog.

Go one step beyond and create custom icons for building types (figma works for this), like a little house, small apt building, and a tall building (I’m making this up, use your imagination). Then use color for the building age.

Before we get to the project, let’s explore what Web Assembly actually is. According to webassembly.org, Web Assembly, (Wasm) is a binary instruction format and virtual machine that allows developers to bring nearly any application to the web with near-native performance. Before Wasm, JavaScript was the only programming language available for web apps but in 2015 Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, Apple, and other tech…
