  • Why wasn’t the Perseverance Rover launch timed so it would reach Mars at the point the two planets were closest together?

    You can play some Kerbal Space Program if you want to gain an intuitive feel, or check this KSP tutorial I made many years ago on plotting this exact transfer in that game.
