Initially we only offered Monero through LocalMonero, then we added Bitcoin with AgoraDesk. Didn’t really see the need to add further coins as they would require extra maintenance costs while not really being actively traded P2P.

Not every exchange ran off with customer funds (i.e. Coinbase). And as others have commented, P2P is actually quite vibrant, it just doesn’t get much attention. Check out: Bisq https://bisq.network/ LocalMonero https://localmonero.co/?language=en.

It’s way easier to start a trade on LocalMonero than it is on Kraken. You don’t even need an email to register an account on our site, after which you can immediately select a payment method that you prefer and open a trade. With Kraken, you’ll need to prepare a stack of documents and wait for their support staff to respond before you are even able to trade.

I stopped using localmonero.co because the sellers on there are really sneaky, and I’ve been burned a few times. The staff will pretty much side with the vendor every time. However, I have made a few successful trades and trust a few people, so I just deal with them off the platform. I know I lose the escrow, but again, I trust these people and don’t need it anyways.

Otherwise, you can find a local buyer for your Monero on localmonero.co, who might be willing to just send money straight to your bank account. If you don’t find any such buyers your can also post your own ad and just wait for someone to pick it up (should find someone pretty quick, but make sure you only allow verified users, to avoid annoying scammers from bothering you).

If localmonero.co has been compromised, is it not safe to assume that your reddit account could also just as easily be compromised.
