There is a commercial solution called Gemini 2 from MacPaw that you might check out. I’ve been testing it and it’s pretty straightforward and can be used to identify dupes that you then manually check too: http://macpaw.com/gemini/.

In fact, I was recently looking for an app to help me detect duplicates in Apple Photos after thousands of images accidentally got merged into my library, and discovered Gemini 2 through a Google search, not Mac Paw pushing it on me. Now that app may be advertised in CleanMyMac X somewhere, but I’d never seen it before.

While Typeface has some font-specific features, you can also use a general duplicate file finder such as Gemini. There are quite a few alternative duplicate file finders available for Mac if you want to spend less, but UX will be of lower quality.

If you are open to alternatives, there are tools like (macOS) https://macpaw.com/gemini which scans for duplicates and can find similar pictures. I would assume cropped photos are found unless they are VERY cropped.

Photos duplicate detection isn’t perfect, so it might be worth using some other tool to deduplicate things, e.g. Gemini 2.

You need a tool like Kaleidoscope and Gemini which will allow you to compare folders and/or remove duplicates.

Basically what I want to do is remove everything from iCloud and get it sorted along with everything else in my Photos directory on my hard drive.
