Which game do you want to emulate? If you’re talking about fe7 (localized as just Fire Emblem in the west), you’re gonna need a ROM which I can’t link here but I can PM to you if you need it, and an emulator. I recommend Mgba (https://mgba.io/) for GBA games.

Here’s the thread for the Real Battle Network Gameplay patch, here’s the English translation patch, and here’s the emulator I recommend where you can just slot in the Navi of your choice to unlock them immediately. The ROM you’ll have to scare up for yourself, but I’m sure you can handle it.

Because GBA is an unsupported device, people will use an emulator to play the game on their computer or retro handheld. This means our game will require no maintenance to keep running. Also I just run retro gaming on my windows pc since I’m always on it. I use SNES, Gameboy, PS1, PS2, PS3, XBox, and XBox 360. If sure it’s not efficient to run them all separately but it works for me.

Emulators 100%, mGBA for GBA games (My Boy for android, sprang for the paid version a while ago and don’t regret it), DeSmuME for DS and Citra for 3DS. I do technically still own copies of most DS and 3DS games but I despise nuzlocking on hardware at this point and I tend to play romhacks anyways. See, this is the problem with people loudly insisting that VisualBoyAdvance is fine for everything they need to do. Mgba has had reliable link cable emulation for years and is much more accurate overall – in fact, I completed my Hoenn regional Dex with it.

Hey! So, I use MGBA for gba emulations (it can also run gb and gbc games if that’s something you’re interested in) and DeSmuMe for ds ones. I don’t usually play 3ds games but citra works just fine for that. You can download them all in their official websites: https://mgba.io/ http://desmume.org/ and https://citra-emu.org/.

The GB Operator just dumps the ROM and save file, then loads it in mGBA. You can do the same thing.

No matter which editor you debug in, the workflow is about the same. You will need DevkitPro gba-dev and an emulator like mGBA. If you want to familiarize yourself with some C code for GBA, as well as Makefiles with CFlags and other build options, there is an example repo you can check out :).

You should not buy anything, just download the patch from the link, download a japanese fe6 rom (i can’t link you to one because it’s against the rules) and apply the patch using a tool like this. Then play it using a flashcart or an emulator (mGBA comes highly recommended). Fe6 was never officially translated and anyone trying to sell you a translation is a scammer trying to profit off other people’s work.

For example: While playing Pokemon in mGBA, if you save in-game, it’ll create/modify a file ending in .sav. That file is – theoretically – 1-to-1 with the save you would get on a physical cartridge. It’s quite portable.

Hey guys, I’m new to embedded progamming. I’ve been developing for the GameBoy Advance and it has an excellent environment to develop, without even needing a GBA. E.g a feature-rich emulator like: https://mgba.io/, a great gcc toolchain (devkitpro), you can get up and running with VS Code in seconds.
