  • Help with file renaming. Hi, everyday for work I need to rename 100/200 files, adding a letter and a number before the file name(the letter and the number are crescent, and the renaming is done for 2 files, and then going for the next two files with the next number). Is there a way to speed up

    If you need more powerful file-renaming utility than what’s built into the Finder, and you don’t want to to learn how to do it with Python, Bash, or AppleScript, this utility might do the trick for you.

  • i know there’s a way to batch rename files in finder. but is there a way to remove all the last 5 characters from a file so it would look like the first file? i accidentally renamed everything with a sorting program and need to revert the filenames

    NameChanger has a “Remove Characters” option which may well work here.
