My own experience from more or less freelancing: If you create an account on a preconfigured server without setting it up on a machine of your own, e.g. On odoo.com / odoo.sh, or cloudpepper.io/ and don’t need very specific configurations done, plus are willing to try out and learn a lot (we’re speaking about days, not hours, depending on what you need even more than a week) you can do it on your own.

I hope I understand correctly but I cannot change the alias to a custom domain, it has to end in odoo.com. The alias that the new company’s tickets are being directed to is connected to its own incoming server and it is used regularly.

If you go to odoo.com and sign up, and use their website, you can set up amazing websites with a few clicks in the industry you are in. Without any code you an adjust everything to your liking. It is a great unknown software!

Essentially a good part of the developer community refused to accept 3.x. Oddly enough, 2.x had continued development and updates with code that was essentially already depreciated even before the 2.7 version was released in July 2010. One example is the open source ERP odoo.com (used to be OpenERP) which did not migrate their software to Python 3.x until late 2017.
