One other thing you can also do, it doesn’t give exactly the same performance boost but just upload any of their pdfs to https://pdfcompressor.com/ and it should make the performance improve a bit.

I need to compress PDF documents to make them as legible as possible but still be compressed like the output from https://pdfcompressor.com/ ?That website doesa very good job at compressing documents but for privacy reasons I’d like to keep it local on my PC.

So I tried several online pdf compression tools, and of these pdfcompressor.com seemed best. It achieved 90%+ compression ratios on the files in question (vastly improving scrolling), allows batch processing (<= 20 files) & doesn’t apply daily limits. IDK where its revenue stream comes from, but I hope it stays around! &/ publishes whatever methods are being applied; it’s getting far better results than I’ve been…
