  • Anyone with a ER8411 able to get more than 1Gbps upload speeds?

Playing around with the ER8411 with 5Gbps internet and I am able to get download speeds of 4.9~5.0Gbps but no matter which site I test with; fast.com, wifiman.com, openspeedtest.com, or speedtest.net I am unable to get beyond 1Gbps upload.

  • 2gig fiber optic capped at 950mbps

What you can do, just to test your speed…take the cord plugged into the eero router that goes to your computer and plug it straight into the ONT. Reset the ONT after plugging it in directly. Then try https://openspeedtest.com.

  • Out with the old and in with the old (a boring post about consolidation due to energy costs in UK)

While transferring this amount of data around was always going to be a pain so far the biggest head scratcher is the supermicro would happy speed test ( https://openspeedtest.com/ ) 8.5gbit up / 8.5gbit down to my desktop workstation, and with those 4x8TB Toshiba SMB transfers steady 600MB/sec in or out.

If your Internet connection is not fast enough, or you just want to know the max WiFi speed, use Open Speed Test. It is a free, browser based speed test, similar to speedtest.net.

  • WiFi 6 Speeds Troubleshooting

OpenSpeedtest (https://openspeedtest.com), currently hosted on my Synology NAS via docker. It’s a TCP protocol test (not UDP). Also mentioned above, I did actual file transfers from a wired PC to a wireless Macbook, averaged 110MB/s. MacBook connects AX speed rate of 1200Mbps (2×2 80MHz).

  • OpenSpeedTest Version 2.5.2 Update. (Added DarkMode)

Maybe related to https://openspeedtest.com/ ? So maybe you can have your own OpenSpeedTest widget on your website, instead of pointing people at Speedtest.net? Or perhaps even download code to run on your own servers? Is there a public repo for the code being run?

  • Which speed test to trust?

I’ve tried speedtest.net, fast.com, openspeedtest.com. Each of the them gives consistent individual results but none of them agree with each other. None of them show anything close to my maximum speed.

  • Issues with buffering. Streaming UHD 4k from Desktop server to TV

Another thing you can try is https://openspeedtest.com/
Download and run the mini speed test server app on the Plex server and then go to the url on another device on the network to see what sort of throughput you’re getting with the router. With your setup it should be much higher than bitrate for your 4k videos.

  • Advanced Speed Test Commands

Open Speedtest seems to incorrectly assume that the browser will send a Referer header cross-origin, and so all the assets fail to load with 403 and there are no styles, images, or scripts. As such, couldn’t test since the speed test didn’t work.

  • Possible to test an ethernet run?

Well, I recently had the same dilemma. One way, if you happen to have the infrastructure, is to install OpenSpeedTest on one machine, then use a second machine to test the speed between the two while using that particular cable.

  • What could be the cause of this terrible Ping on WIFI?

Try to host this (http://openspeedtest.com/) on your system and connect your system on Ethernet with your router. And browse to the hosted page on your wifi device and try the speed test. This should be almost equal to your wifi speed or max throughput of the device wifi. If its not then your router is getting over loaded or router’s os is out of date. Try upgrading it.
