Sendgrid, Mailgun, or Postmark are great solutions if you have a need for transactional emails that are technical. I still prefer using Customer.io for this need. If you’re unsure what transactional emails are, check out this guide.

I’ve just closed off my last site using SendGrid and I use Postmark for everything now.
The service blows SendGrid out of the water IMO. I think their free tier is only 100 emails pm but I think it’s only $10 to send 10,000 https://postmarkapp.com/.

Deliverability: Even switching to SendGrid dedicated IPs won’t fix the problem (multiple reasons why). Using Amazon SES or Postmarkapp ( https://postmarkapp.com/ ) is better because they have stricter rules about only opt-in emails. However these are only SMTP services and don’t handle the more complex features.

I have setup DMARC on my domain with the option to quarantine emails. I do get a weekly digest from postmarkapp.com for this domain. It is my personal email domain and it does not process a lot of emails, probably less than 5 per day.

Postmark (https://postmarkapp.com/) is extremely good as an email delivery platform. We find they out-compete everyone with deliverability and latency (and parts of our service are pretty sensitive to email latency).
