CoreDirector is pretty straight forward and easy to use, but on my machine it caused micro-stutters even if I had higher frames. I used Process Lasso to do this, which should be the same thing CoreDirector does, but it worked better for me.

If BES doesn’t work for you, you can try Project Lasso for free: https://bitsum.com/. On this one, I’ve set the CPU Limiter to when the process reach 85% for 2 seconds, limit by 1 core for 1 second. You can also reduce the CPU affinity to one less core using the Windows Task Manager but this will impact the frame rate.

All right, here are two possible solutions I know of:
Firstly you can limit the number of cores the game is using, which can increase your FPS significantly (and potentially fix the stutter as well). Why? Because Far Cry 3 and 4’s optimalization on PC sucks ass, and the newer the PC setup, the more likely it will have problems with both games.

14-16gb RAM usage is normal for my sessions. You have to go to performance tab and set the graph to logical processors to get a more accurate representation of core/thread usage. If you really want to drill down cpu usage and some related tools, get Process Lasso.

I would suggest not minimizing the game as then the OS can implement its own throttling, which can cause the same issues. Other conflicts can also arise with the OS manager if a process with a higher affinity rating kicks in, so something like Process Lasso may help identify if that is happening.

I would suggest grabbing Process Lasso and watching your usages for conflicts, which 8/10/11 have too many to list before you ever get into 3rd party potentials. You may not have any, but it never hurts to check and verify.

Project Lasso, it’s a CPU scheduling and monitoring tool, or at least that’s all I use it for. It allows you to see all the processes running on your PC and assign which cores they are running on. It’s particularly useful for certain CPU’s were certain cores are better for certain tasks.
