Community Engagement
Reddit hosts a vast array of communities (subreddits) where users can engage in discussions, share content, and seek advice on virtually any topic imaginable.
Diverse Content
Users can find a wide range of content, from news and educational posts to entertainment and niche hobbies, making Reddit a versatile platform.
Anonymity
Reddit allows users to create accounts without using their real names, which can encourage more honest and open discussions.
Upvote/Downvote System
This system helps to highlight popular and high-quality content, while less valuable posts can be downvoted and become less visible.
Crowdsourced Information
The collaborative nature of Reddit allows for the rapid sharing of information, answers, and diverse perspectives from the community.

The great thing about launching a free, open-source project is that you can largely talk about it and promote it on Reddit without it getting marked as spam, although you still have to be careful how and where you post it.

Unless somehow your PC has some specific lock against letting you browse to reddit.com.

This post is kind of a social experiment because I noticed if I sprinkled a mild amount of douchebaggery in my clips people would talk about it and the post gets engagement and whatnot, went out to commit a crime and post it to reddit.com to see what happens.

In the bottom left of the Steam client click on “Add game” -> “Add Non-Steam game”.
Search the list for your preferred browser, select it and click on “Add selected applications”.
Right-click the entry for your browser in your library, click on “Properties”.
In Start options, enter the URL for the website you need to open, e.g. https://reddit.com
Rename the entry however you want.

All it does is any link I click on within reddit.com, it automatically redirects to new.reddit.com so I can view everything using the old reddit layout.

My reddit became all black and unreadable yesterday, this new redesign is unreadable for me, I prefer the one with grey borders around my posts. Looking around, I found that I can get this UI by using new.reddit.com instead of reddit.com, and I thought it worked great, except if I click on a notification it sends me back to reddit.com with its unreadable UI. Trying to just change the webaddress manually gives me a…

Fix for this – Download Redirector extension on Chrome (not sure if on other browsers) and create a new redirect rule – this will ensure every reddit link opens in new.reddit – including your messages.

Then when you go to reddit.com, every single link you click on, even from outside websites, will take you to new.reddit.com instead of the other crap.

Well, reddit. Obviously they were never performing “poorly” by most metrics, but if you look at reddit.com in Ahrefs you’ll see their organic search traffic shot up in late 2016, plateaued until a drop in late 2019, then plateaued again all the way until this summer and they’ve been on an insane upward trajectory since then. By Ahrefs estimate (take that as you will), their organic traffic was 109M around…
