I’m not aware of any analysis. Some of the symbols look familiar to anyone with a keyboard, while others not so much. For fun, I took a stab at trying to match them to Unicode characters (using this website) and came up with some possible matches:.

Https://shapecatcher.com/ cant seem to recognize it, but I would assume there is a Unicode version of it. My best guess is that its supposed to indicate that each part of the inscription is on a different side of the bell?

Thank you! I used https://shapecatcher.com. Disappointingly couldn’t find any good characters for the stretched R, 8 or D.

Doing a quick search on shapecatcher, similar or identical symbols include the alchemical symbol for alembic ( ) and a logical operator (or see here) consisting of an overlapping “Or” (∨) and “And” (∧) symbol (⩙), which I’m not sure what it’s used for.

As /u/nplusonebikes mentioned, try https://shapecatcher.com/ for a kind of “backwards search” into Unicode.

The Latin and Greek characters I typed directly, the accent mark I added with unicode input mode while referencing combining diacritical marks, and for the rest, shapecatcher.com, which is a really wonderful and useful site. I was able to use that (and Ukelele on Mac) to make a keyboard layout for my own conscript.

Unfortunately, there’s no Unicode characters with the shapes required for a lot of sounds in English, especially the vowels; I used this service to double-check, and to find the ones I did. And, the glyph approximations aren’t all the right size, plus it’s getting late where I am, but, here’s a full (if weird) sentence I can eke out off the top of my head:.

I couldn’t find the right unicode for Tewi’s mouth (the 5th option).
This is what I used to find the unicodes : https://shapecatcher.com/.

Shapecatcher is my go-to for finding characters encoded in unicode, but it’s not 100% complete- it doesn’t do Hanzi/Kanji/Hanja characters for example. I tend to use this site for them.

Hi, I’ve a few questions about making own writing system that works in unicode. Is there a way to type Latin characters or private usage characters from right to left? I’ve seen a website like this one that helps find existing unicode characters to use in your conscript, is there a way to search between characters written only right-to-left? Is there anything more to finding characters in unicode for conscript…
