    • CHRIST BOT Mission Statement ✝️

So, here’s what you’ll all need to do, report this bot to reddit, and have theverge.com and all other sites as well, ars, wired and so on, to report about this being a “christian” bot, and thus, being a part of the rightwing/alt-right community, and point that finger as that (that might not be true, but it can certainly give the light of it, seeing how /u/spez might have some of them dollars from religious…

“OpenAI has launched a bug bounty, encouraging members of the public to find and disclose vulnerabilities in its AI services including ChatGPT. Rewards range from $200 for “low-severity findings” to $20,000 for “exceptional discoveries,” and reports are submittable via crowdsourcing cybersecurity platform Bugcrowd.” (an excerpt from an article from theverge.com).

    • Firefox was very popular in 2012

On my Pixel 7 Pro I had to stop using it. It lags so bad when scrolling heavy pages. Guess it’s just not optimized for it yet, but when scrolling e.g apple.com / theverge.com it’s 5fps for me. Tried enabling/disabling uBlock etc, nothing helps.

    • Firefox on Pixel 7 Pro is really sluggish

I’m a big fan of firefox, but after getting my Pixel 7 Pro it’s really bad. When going to image-heavy pages like theverge.com or apple.com the scrolling is like 5 fps. Guess it’s something with Firefox not being optimized for Android 13 or the new Pixels? Anyone else experiencing this?

    • weird ugly thin font

I think this may be because of the website’s font choice. theverge.com also used to use a font that was unreadable on lower resolution screens, but their current font is decent.

    • Apple Reportedly Plans Fix for $1,600 Studio Display’s Disappointing Webcam

EDIT: Apparently I didn’t take into account the fact that Windows and macOS’ text rendering systems are different, so I guess that may explain why a 1080p display is enough for my Windows PC (unless I am visiting theverge.com, since they are using a font that seems to be “designed to look bad on 1080p displays”).

    • Linus Tech Tips think ad-blocking is piracy despite the fact that federal courts have proven this false many times

The issue we do have is when publisher greed takes over and starts driving everything they do. For example, look at theverge.com with and without adblocking. How many different types of ads are pushed to the user in a single session? Publisher logic always ends up with them asking “If I make X amount of money with one ad, why not run 10 ads?”.

Wow, theverge.com starts the year by running a Microsoft hatchet job. What a shock. Yes, that is sarcasm for the naive around here. So where is year starting coverage on the fact that Google has still not addressed the fact its flagship phones have issues with their own software (Android Auto for many)?
