  • What am I supposed to do for scholarships?

There are also scholarships that are not specific to any school, but rather an organization. For example, my mosque offers a scholarship that students can apply to. The scholarship money is given via check that can go towards any school. There are many websites that make finding and applying to these external scholarships easy like scholarshipowl.com, scholarships.com, and unigo.com. I guess you could say that…

  • Personalized weighted average rankings for narrowing down the list

Alex then went online and did their own research. Alex preferred reading reviews by students and relied a lot on studentsreview.com and unigo.com. They then scored every category for a given school and the spreadsheet would calculate a score. I also suggested to Alex to disregard the names they had in mind and just read about each school with an open mind. The result was fascinating! This is what we learned:.

  • How did y’all build your college lists?

#2 current student reviews: I find the website unigo.com really helpful. I got a sense of how the student population was like and the work and social culture, and anything I should be wary of.

  • How do I determine the vibes of a school? And how much do they really matter?

I personally go to unigo.com. It’s a website that has a feature where students answer questions about the typical students at their college. Here’s Cornell, as an example.

  • pls help me choose between colleges

If Reed is a good match for your personality, it is a good bet Colgate will be trickier (but not impossible) to find your people. Where are you from originally? Are you near either? Where do you think you may want to be after college – much easier to be in the NE from Colgate and the PNW from Reed. Maybe check out reviews for both at places like unigo.com?

  • I visited 100+ top colleges and made 360° drone/drive/walk-thru videos of each campus (all free on Youtube)

    – Each video also has at least 10 fun facts that I felt really define that school. I hand picked these after reading from Fiske’s Guide, Princeton Review guide, reviews from students at unigo.com, and online about the colleges. After reading hundreds of comments about each college, you end up with a “feel” for what’s unique and what’s the same everywhere.
