You can use this to make it a 6DOF headset and try some games https://riftcat.com/vridge.

I remember trying the demo version of VRidge ages ago, my phone back then wasn’t really ready for it but still played a couple of levels of the original DooM without too much issues.

That’s years after Riftcat/VRidge, iVRy and AMD ReLiveVR did it and finally Airlink only happened because VirtualDesktop was stealing the show, an as far as I know only existed because this engineer started it on their own, PC compatibility was very very low on Metas TODO list.

One way is with Vridge / Riftcat, which is the only program I know of which allows you to use the Flow with SteamVR.
You have to install Riftcat on your PC, which can be downloaded on their website and then you have to install vridge on the Vive Flow.
Since it is not fully supported on the Vive Flow, you have to sideload it e.g., with Sidequest. You can find the apk-File in this…

There is a way. At least there used to be, I haven’t messed with it in a long time. RiftCat is what you want.

Weird, why isn’t mobile phone VR actual VR? In both cases it’s just two screen elements behind lenses with some headset tracking mechanism. Buy some controllers and run https://riftcat.com/vridge and it works just the same as a desktop unit. I’d certainly love to know why that isn’t “actual vr”?

You can use VRidge but I’d strongly recommend just playing on desktop mode instead.

I dunno but perhaps you can get it running through VRidge? https://riftcat.com/vridge.

First piece is of course getting the VR content streamed to your phone. You’ll need a need a phone headset like this, and Riftcat for the actual steaming.

Riftcat is what you are looking for. But buy a quest, phone VR is terrible.

I don’t have that much to shell out for actual VR headsets, so I did some research and found this: https://riftcat.com/vridge . Among other titles, Elite Dangerous is featured as one of the main games to work well with this tech. It essentially streams VR-capable images to your smartphone so that you can practically use any smartphone VR “holder”, even Google Cardboard, and turn into a cheap entry-level VR device.

That system might have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, I loved that CPU, I had it in a system along side a GTX 750 and 8gigs of RAM, It would happily run Fall out new vegas, Portal series, Half life, good little work horse.
In fact my first experiences with VR using Riftcat https://riftcat.com/vridge was using this setup.

This is free to try, you are limited to 10 minutes per session unless you buy it but it is a lot cheaper than a full VR headset. https://riftcat.com/vridge.

Apparently there’s something called VRidge now that seems rather popular and easy to set up https://riftcat.com/vridge so maybe you want to give that a go.

Oh for the Mario Kart VR? I use a modified version of dolphin. Here’s a video about it: https://youtu.be/SvSy-QLVUqQ. If you’re talking about Riftcat, info about it’s here: https://riftcat.com/vridge.

This might be a long shot (and I haven’t tested it myself), but if your wife’s computer is a gaming PC, it’s possible that you could play PCVR titles using Riftcat/VRidge using the Quest APK. Check the specifications and you might just be in luck; thankfully there’s a free version with a 10 minute time limit and plenty of free titles on SteamVR and the Oculus Rift store that may work for a PC just a bit below PCVR…

If you plan (at any capacity) to attempt to play PCVR games, you will need a beefy computer and a license of Riftcat or equivalent software, also taking into account you wont have “tracked hand controls”. (does cut off 90% of the good stuff).
